WHERE IS AMERICA?
Where is the world heading, and how will the balance of power look in days to come, especially in view of the current (and probably future) financial ‘disasters’.
Is it a coincidence that the Bible makes no mention (or only slight mention according to some commentators) of a great nation like America?
That America is in trouble no one can deny and unbelievable as it seemed even a few years ago it could now be entering into a period of decline.
Well don’t write it off just yet, however it is clear that America does not feature very much, if at all, in the ‘End Time’ scenario described in the Bible.
In fact the whole of the book of Revelation centres mainly on the Middle East and Europe in the period it calls ‘the last days’ or ‘end times’.
To modern observers it is obvious that Israel is centre stage in world affairs (as prophesied in the Bible during what it calls ‘the last days’.
A fact unbelievable to anyone living prior to the 20th Century except for a few discerning students of Bible prophesy. It seemed too far fetched that Israel could ever be a nation again after the world-wide dispersal and persecution of the Jews. But now it is an undeniable fact.
Bible prophecy certainly also details a super-power centred on the area covered by the old Roman empire. It is notable that the EEC Nations which cover this area are all signatories of the Treaty of Rome and they could soon fill that role, if they don’t already. It may be an embryo empire, but it is growing in power all the time.
Also mentioned in the Bible during the last days is an alliance between Russia (Gog and Magog) and certain named Middle Eastern nations (all Muslim) such as Iran and Iraq (Persia) etc. This alliance sweeps down upon ‘defenceless’ Israel seeking to destroy it, but are themselves destroyed supernaturally.
Later it mentions the Kings of the East attacking over the dried-up river Euphrates with a vast 200 million army (a number almost inconceivable to anyone living in the first century, when the book of Revelation was written).
But where is America? Maybe it ceases to have any meaningful impact on the world as a nation.
Impossible? Well maybe not, especially in view of the current (and future) financial and political upheavals. In the Bible the focus is certainly not on the USA but on Israel and the Middle East.
We are certainly living in ‘exciting’ days.
