Faith or what

Religion, faith and all that stuff…

So often what many call ‘religion’ is seen as something to do with ‘faith’ and is condemned as far removed from any kind of reason.

True there are things in the Bible that cannot be ‘proved’ in a ‘test-tube’ but in fact there is a huge body of scientific belief that also cannot be proved in a test-tube. Either way it all comes down to ‘faith’ of one kind or another.

Of course there is what we call ‘pure science’ eg: mathematics. Which deals with facts (or we could say absolutes or ‘truth’) that are provable and dependable as far as we know. Maths is a good example in that 1+1 is ALWAYS = 2. Chemistry is another. Physics can be, but sometimes the ‘facts’ need updating due to new discoveries. (That is: Not the discovery of new ‘truth’ but rather the discovery of a new understanding of what currently appears to be truth).

The ’science’ which deals with our ‘origins’ though can often only be understood by theory (this is obvious as no one living was actually there at the beginning). Evolutionists though usually ignore this fact and these days often call their theories ‘facts’.

The FACT is that the evidence can be interpreted in different ways depending on the viewpoint taken. At least evolutionists used to be honest and always say things such as ‘we assume’ or ‘we believe’ or ‘we think’ – sadly their honesty has all but disappeared in their zeal to convert everyone to their own viewpoint. So sad! So un-intellectual and definitely un-scientific.

The Evolutionist takes the facts and interprets them according to their own viewpoint due to their intellectual bias that ‘there is no God’.

Creationists take the SAME facts and interpret them according to their understanding of the Bible. But facts are facts and just because we don’t like or believe in the biblical viewpoint does not mean it is permissable to dismiss this viewpoint without investigation and with disdain.

As I said earlier either way it all comes down to our ‘faith’ in our interpretation. Creationists would say that evolution takes too much ‘trust and faith’ to accept as too much scientific evidence disproves the evolutionist theory.

Important Note: I use ‘evolution’ here to mean evolution of the species. In fact evolution is a undeniable fact of life. (eg: dogs can evolve into different kinds of dogs’ to put it simply). But there is zero proof that any species (or bible ‘kind’) of animal evolves across the impassible divide and becomes another species. eg: a fish cannot evolve into a monkey no matter how many millions of years you say it takes. There is NO proof of that kind of evolution. That’s it ZERO proof!

Faith and knowledge (what is truth?)

When it comes to faith in the Bible and in Jesus Christ however ‘faith’ is based on reasonable knowledge and truth… in reality it is not ‘religion’ at all. It is a real and personal and ‘provable’ experience of the ultimate reality: God. As revealed in Jesus Christ who dared to proclaim ‘I AM the way, the truth and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)

Now it is obvious that either Jesus Christ is the greatest liar ever born or self-deluded or He is who He said He is.

I believe, based upon very strong reasons as well as personal experience and faith that Jesus Christ IS the Son of God and that He was God revealed in the flesh. (1 Timothy 3:16) Unbelievable as that sounds to ‘unbelievers’ I am absolutely convinced it is true.

Many years ago as a VERY convinced atheist (then agnostic) then a CONVINCED believer, I made a definite personal commitment to Jesus Christ and PROVED (to my complete satisfaction) that it is true. My life was totally transformed although I have never become ‘religious’ in the normal usage of that term. I now have LIFE in all its fullness and I know it. (see John 10:10)

It will be my pleasure to answer any questions I can and to point you to the same truth that transformed my life. The name of that truth… JESUS
